Melissa Propp

I've wanted to be a writer since I was 7 years old. Although I read a lot of the classics and required reading in high school, my real passion for reading and writing actually came from a rather "low-brow" source--romance novels! For you literary critics, you might decide right here and now that there is no point in reading anything that a "Harlequin Romance Writer Wannabe" has written. Well, that is your prerogative, but I say anything that captures your imagination and inspires you to dream, is worth reading. I don't read romance novels any more, unless you count The Hunger Games or Twilight. I've expanded my horizons to include a lot more genres now, but I still credit my desire to write to those cheap little romance novel paperbacks that we used to buy at garage sales for a quarter! I might never write a literary classic, but that doesn't mean that I can't dream of writing the perfect summer beach book. And when I do write and publish my first novel, I just might give a shout out to Janet Dailey or Charlotte Lamb!

My hobbies include reading, writing, watching horror movies, gardening, and watching my sons swim and wrestle. I'm also a not-so-secret reality tv junkie...
