Review of the VCK Dual Filter Air Purifier

The VCK Dual Filter Air Purifier

The VCK Dual Filter Air Purifier

I’ve reviewed eight different air purifiers over the last year. Each was larger, more powerful, and better equipped than the previous. Sadly, these incremental improvements were accompanied by a similar increase in price.

Today I am examining a smaller unit designed for an office or a bedroom. It’s not a particularly sophisticated device, but the price is right, and the VCK Dual Filter air purifier demands little space. Can it get the job done? Read on and find out.

Physical Description

Most of the air purifiers I have recently tested have been large rectangular units encased in either white or gray plastic. VCK has taken a different approach. The LE-AP001 is a barrow-shaped device composed of black plastic, its left and right sides sheathed in woodgrain-colored panels. This air purifier is 16 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 6.75 inches deep.

One wood-grained panel can be removed, revealing a pair of slots fitted with HEPA H13 filters.

A fan draws in air from the top and bottom of the unit and forces it through the filters. The resulting clean air passes through a set of vents at the back of the air purifier.

The top-mounted touchscreen and display allow the user to turn on the device, select one of three fan speeds, set a timer, and activate a child lock.

This air purifier is designed for use in small confined spaces such as a home office or a bedroom.

The Filter

The VCK Dual Filter air purifier is fitted with a pair of H13 HEPA filters. This device is designed for small rooms and can capture up to 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns in size.

Under normal use, these filters should be replaced every six months.

Clean Air Delivery Rate

CADR is a metric specifying the amount of air cleaned of particles sized 0.3 microns or larger within one hour. This air purifier has a CADR of 117m³/h.

Activated Carbon Filter

This layer of the HEPA filter removes volatile organic compounds and other odors.

Noise Levels and Fan Speed

The lowest fan speed produces an almost indiscernible 25db of noise. The medium speed is a little louder but perfectly acceptable. The highest rotation rate could prove bothersome in a small room, and I select it only after lighting a cigarette.

Sleep Mode

When this mode is chosen, the air purifier reverts to its lowest fan speed and, after five seconds, turns off its display.

Child Lock

This function prevents children from randomly changing the operating parameters of the device.

Filter Replacement Reminder

When the air purifier has been used for more than 1500 hours, a red light indicates the need to replace its filters. A set of replacement filters (ASIN: B0BLHGB8ZW) are currently priced at $25.00.

Timer

This button allows the operator to automatically shut off the air purifier after 2, 4,8, 10, or 12 hours of use.

Overall Impression

VCK has designed an inexpensive air purifier that functions well in small, confined areas such as offices and bedrooms. Replacement filters are reasonably priced.

It lacks the fancy sensors and Alexa compatibility commonly boasted by larger air purifiers, but since this device will typically be located within arms reach, these capabilities are unnecessary.

If you are searching for a decent air purifier for your home office or bedroom, the VCK Dual Filter air purifier is well worth considering.
