Craziest and Most Unique Toilet Designs

Novel Treasure is a published author who enjoys a good laugh and writing about quirky topics.

Tired of your boring old commode? Want to revamp your bathroom? Create a conversation with these wacky and unique toilet designs.

Mouth-Shaped Urinal

Called "The Kisses" urinals, these lips urinals are a popular novelty attraction created by Dutch designer Meike van Schijndel from Amsterdam. Schijndel is the designer at the Utrecht-based firm Bathroom Mania.

Meike has received some controversy over her design, with critics stating it is degrading to women to have men pee into a woman's mouth. However, she argues back that the lip urinals were designed after a cartoon mouth, not that of a woman.

Regardless of the critics, "The Kisses" have continued to rise in popularity and orders are flooding into the Amsterdam-based company.

Nature's Call

Aptly titled "Nature's Call", these floral and seashell-shaped urinals are quite elegant despite their intended use of being urine receptacles.

These floral-shaped and nature-inspired urinals were designed by the San Francisco-based artist Clark Sorenson. They are one of a kind pieces, handmade with high fire porcelain. They are not just an art piece, but can be installed and used.

The price of these unique, one-of-a-kind urinals ranges anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000. For more information, go to

Giving the President a Taste of His Own Medicine

Nothing like telling good old former President Bush how you really feel.

Clark Sorenson, a San Francisco area artist better known for his "Nature's Call" and floral designed urinals, is also the designer and creator of this one of a kind President Bush urinal.

Although there is a lot of Anti-Bush sentiment out there, this one stands out as being one of the more infamous pieces of Anti-Bush paraphernalia.

Tuba shaped urinals provide musical inspiration as you visit the restroom. No, they don't play music as you go!

Supposedly created to cut down on "splash", these horn shaped urinals are causing quite a stir, and not just in the music community.

I'm guessing that no matter what key is played, it will always be a sour note.

Star Wars Inspired Urinal

I'm pretty sure that George Lucas never intended for his Star Wars movies to be depicted in such a "unique" manner. Let's hope this imperial trooper doesn't decide to strike back!

I thought the same thing when I saw the lips too!!

Jayme Kinsey from Oklahoma on October 29, 2012:

This was a fun hub! My first thought when I saw the lips was Rocky Horror Picture Show, which could be either a guy or girl. Therefore, not so much defaming as just funny.

Thanks for sharing these unique designs!

I think it would be easier for me to "gear myself up" to clean the bathroom if I got to clean a flower shaped urinal rather than the standard toilet.

dkmayo on September 07, 2011:

Very interesting. I didn't know there were so many varieties.

I wouldn't mine having the flowers in my bathroom. They would add a certain panache.
