There are plenty of ways that you can hide your more obnoxious appliances throughout your home, and all it takes is a bit of creativity and know-how. In fact, we’ve seen people who have hidden entire fridges as some cool, antique cabinet, or done other, simpler projects such as painting or otherwise decorating their appliances to blend in just a little bit more.
But, what about your dishwasher? This is another appliance that generally doesn’t ‘fit’ any sort of aesthetic beyond bland, but luckily Kalyn of HappilyEverAlbertson has just the trick to hide it away!

So, the problem that is unique to hiding a dishwasher is the fact that it is kind of in an odd spot. Unlike a fridge or other appliance, dishwashers tend to be centered in one location, and since they’re hooked up to water, they can’t really be moved. That leaves a big, bulky thing, usually right in the middle of your kitchen counter space, and you can’t do much with it.
Enter Kalyn.
Rather than try painting over or otherwise messing up her dishwasher, she decided to try something else instead. This involved removing the face of the dishwasher completely, laying it down on some cabinetry that was of similar size, and screwing the cabinet face to the dishwasher itself. What this did was, once replaced, allow the dishwasher to look like it had a regular cabinet door as its face, rather than the original plastic or metal one that is originally there.
It is a great, and fairly simply, way to hide this appliance and, honestly, it looks like nothing at all is even there! Which… is obviously the point!
