Neither would hurt. Perhaps check amp draw on the motor. If it's high it might be on the fritz.
While the furnace is in a long heat cycle (~30 minutes), I will hear the inducer motor cut off for 1 second and then it restarts and continues running. This 1 second shutdown of the inducer may happen 3 or 4 times during the 30 minute heat cycle. Only the inducer motor cuts off for this 1 second time period. The furnace blower continues running. Does the IDM need replacing or possibly the round manual Honeywell thermostat? 14 yo Tempstar Furnace.
Every 2 weeks or so, my furnace will not kick on. The heating and air guy has replaced 2 thermostats, control circuit board, cleaned the flame sensor & limits, checked flue pipe and checked for flame rollout. I usually just have to go to the thermostat and make it go down under the temperature and put it back up for it to kick on. Yesterday it would kick on but it wouldn't kick on to the heating cycle. It would kick back off. So I just left it off all night. What could it be?
I have a Goodman forced air furnace that is about 13yrs old. I replaced the pressure switch a few yrs back and have had the blower replaced about a yr ago as well. I’m currently having trouble with getting heat. The furnace will run, but sometimes it doesn’t blow hot air. When that’s happening, it sounds like the burners are coming on and off. I replaced the thermostat already, but that didn’t work. Any ideas?
